This is boring and sad, so I will keep it short. I got into crypto in the summer of 2021, and into Avalanche in the fall of 2021. I learned about Crabada and the whitelist opportunity from the Trader Joe Discord, and decided to ape in.
I got an allocation! Dumped my crabs immediately because the game seemed stupid, and held onto the allocation of CRA with the hopes that it would print an AXS.
Unfortunately I did not sell out at $1, $2, or $3. I also fomo’d into more on the way down at $1.60, $1.10, and $.60. Stupidly locked all my CRA and started selling my CRAM for income. My CRA was locked through every price jump, and I unlocked them shortly before the subnet delay announcement. Strong regrets for not dumping it then. I eventually capitulated around 50c and took a massive loss on CRA.
Unlike my failed CRA investment, I never made the mistake of holding on to TUS. I bought a few pure Bulks late, literally right before the factional change announcement. I doubled down and bought Gems to transition into looting, and recovered my initial investment on that.
But once the Anti-Bot changes rolled out and I had a solid edge, I started compounding heavily into additional teams, eventually ending up with a total of 36 teams spread over three accounts. At the peak those crabs were worth well over 100K; now they are worth less than 10K. I estimate that every team I have bought has at least paid for itself (returned enough income to match the TUS invested in it) but given the steady decline in the price of TUS, probably not more than a 2x-4x per team.
I still hold those crabs and will probably take them to my grave… or the Battle Game.
